Egg binding is the inability of a hen to pass a developed or partially developed egg. A partially developed egg can have either a soft shell or no shell. Many cases of egg binding occur when a hen is trying to pass what appears to be a "normal" egg. The inability to pass the egg can quickly result in the death of the hen.
Nutrition is often at the root of this problem.Calcium not only forms the shell of the developing egg and maintain strong bones, but is also crucial in the proper functioning of the muscles. While it does take a large amount of calcium to form an egg shell, the hen also needs calcium for the muscle action needed to expel the egg. Vitamin D is crucial in the absorption of calcium. Even when we are feeding the hens a good source of calcium (egg shell, cuttlebone, oyster shell) other things can effect the absorption rate.An excess of phosphorous from plant seeds. Oxalic acid found in spinach, beet greens, chard also reacts with the calcium so that it can not be absorbed. Full spectrum lights can help.A vitamin D water soluble supplement is best.
There are some things you can do.
A warm, quiet environment will help the bird to focus it's reserves on passing the egg.
An immediate increase in calcium will do wonders in improving the muscle action needed to expel the egg.
If the bird has stopped eating and drinking, calcium and Vitamin D liquid from a feed store can be administered directly into the crop.
Massaging a small amount of vegetable oil into and around the vent will help soften the mucus membranes around the vent and help the hen pass the egg.
When the egg has passed, the bird will have made a complete recovery from this episode but correctional steps need be taken.

Yes, it can! You might also try rubbing olive oil around and just inside the vent, as well as massaging her belly.
No. "Egg bound" is when a hen cannot lay an egg, and the egg(s) become trapped in her reproductive system.
The Farmer must "candle" the egg. Candling is shinning a bright light into the egg to see if the egg has been fertilized and if any changes are taking place inside the shell.
The chicken.! the chicken made an egg so the chicken.
god made the chicken and the chicken made an egg OR Dinosaurs laid eggs before the chicken Yellow pineapples purple monkeys in space
The same way you tell in the U.S. A chicken is a chicken anywhere they are.
i would say it is white and rather large (bugger than a chicken egg
It all depends on the breed.
you can see a dot that is darker then the resat
If you can tell me if the chicken or the egg came first, then I will tell you ! the chicken came first b/c if you need chckens to mate then the male fertilize egg so if ANY ONE SAYS THE EGG COMES FIRST EPIC FAIL ON THEIR PART.
a chicken egg is about 50g :)
Well its obvious that the egg came first and then you all say well then where did the egg come from just stare up for a minute and appreciate god for the egg because you know i love chicken and if the egg never came we wouldn't have chicken this is a pretty good answer kids stay in school :P

if i wasnt trying to find the answer mabye i would tell you
You cant until its been at least more then 2 weeks
yes because the chicken is inside of the egg.if the chicken wasnt it would be called just an egg
If you "Came" and not "Goes", then I may have a solution. Think about this, can a chicken survive without an egg, yes, of course the chicken can survive without an egg. But, can an egg survive without a chicken, no, the egg must have the chicken to keep it warm. So, the obvious answer is that the chicken came before the egg.
