The physical act of ferrets mating is very violent and aggressive, starting with the hob (male) biting the Jill's (female) by the neck and dragging her around the cage. Once the mating starts, the Jill will scream of pain which is necessary to induce ovulation, and they will usually stay tied together for two or three hours. The male will mount the female several times, repeating the whole process.
