It probably means that they either really don't like you anymore or they want the other person to like them as well. I think you should bring it up to your "best friend" and tell her how it made you feel and see if she wants to be your friend anymore.

So here is my suggestion: go right out and tell her/him: Im sorry I dont want to be your friend anymore. and if they ask why, tell them why. and this is important: PLAN THE CONVERSATION BEFORE IT HAPPENS! so like if she asks you why and you cant find words for it or just dont know, think about it before you tell her/him. thats what i did with my friend, who now is my worst enemy. =) I hope this helps you.
