The Red Tailed Hawk is not endangered, it is in fact very common in the US, and one of the best know Hawks because of that. But there are other species of hawk that are endangered such as the Galapagos Hawk, Hawaiian Hawk ('lo), Puerto Rican Broad-Winged Hawk, and the Puerto Rican Sharp-Shinned Hawk.
