Battle of Thermopylae- The Battle of Thermopylae took place in the second Persian invasion of Greece in September 480 B.C. It was fought between an Alliance of Greek City-States, and the Persian Empire of Xerxes. Xerxes set out to conquer all of Greece. In the end, the allied armies defeated the Persians at the Battle of Plataea, which ended the Persian invasion.
