The human body has lots of water. While pure water is a good insulator, the human body (and naturally occurring water) has dissolved ions, which are the main reason for the conduction of electricity in this case.

The nerves can produce an electric current that can be transmitted. If muscles receive this current, called the action potential, they can transmit the current along the entire length of the muscle cell. Your skin can also produce an electric current, and this is often referred to as the galvanic skin response.

The reason the human body conducts electricity is that our bodies contain a good volume of electrolytic solution. It is water and all the things dissolved in it that is the electrolyte. This electrolytic solution is a good conductor of electricity. Note that human skin has some resistive qualities, and the resistive characteristics of skin vary from low values for individuals who are sweaty to higher values for dry skin. The conductive water-based electrolytic solution that we have so much of is a bit below the dermal layers, and any voltage applied to a person has to "penetrate" the resistance of the skin to cause current flow in the body. Once a pathway through the dermal barriers is established, current can flow through the body if a complete circuit is established. If that current path is across the heart, death can result.

Neurons allow the human body to conduct electricity. Neurons are the nerve cells. The neuron conducts electrical signals called nerve impulses. When a resting neuron is charged by another neuron it sends an electrical signal which triggers a nerve impulse.

This is a common misconception. If a victim has been struck by lightning or has been electrocuted, the electricity will always move directly to 'Earth'. The patient will have an entrance wound and an exit wound and will not have any charge in their body UNLESS the patient is still connected to the power source.

When coming across a victim of electrocution, make sure they are NOT connected to the power source and also make sure that you will not get electrocuted as well. If the patient is still attached to the power source, break the connection with something non-conductible like a broom - try to move the power source away from the victim, you want to move the patient as little as possible because they may have sustained a neck or back injury.

Electrocution generally stops the heart, your treatment for this is CPR! === ===

I'm guessing this is for physics homework? :P

Skin on skin friction creates electricity.

That's why rubbing your hands keeps them warm in the cold.

The friction creates the electricity which is warm :)

This is exactly the opposite. The human skin is a very bad electricity conductor. If somehow there is an injure in the skin, blood is a good electricity conductor due to metals dissoluted in blood (i.e Iron). If there is enough energy to reach the blood, you will take a shock.

Although the skin has a very large resistance (on the order of MegaOhms), the salt water (electrolyte) solution that is in your body is designed specifically to conduct electricity, so that your nerve impulses can reach the muscles and do those little things we enjoy doing so much, such as walking and breathing.

The human body is capable of conducting electricity. The high concentration of dissolved ionic compounds, also known as electrolytes, are the mechanism of conduction.

Our bodies use electricity for controlling tasks from our brains, carried by nerve cells to muscles, which then relax or contract.

Conductor. Our body is full of electricity, that is why you feel a shock when electricity is conducted from our body to another body.

Why is the human body a good electricity conductor?

The human body has liquid, with dissolved ions.

Is water a better conductor of electricity than human body?

Pure water hardly conducts electricity at all. You have to dissolve a lot of stuff in pure water to make it as good a conductor as the human body is.

Is a human being a conductor of heat?

human is not a good conductor because if u can touch the water heater with your hand then the heat can't flow through out your body that's why the human body does not a good conductor.

Why is a human body not a good conductor of electricity?

Oh it is, it is, hm hm hm yes. Only the skin is not a very good conductor, butonce you get through the skin, all of those crispy juices and nerve cells andfluids on the other side of it are wonderful conductors of electricity!
