An interesting question, for sure. It was reported that John planned to tour in 1981. According to May Pang, he did have serious thoughts about reuniting The Beatles on a "let's record again and see what happens" basis. With the success of "Double Fantasy", no doubt John would have continued writing and recording, and promoting Yoko's work. Always the activist, John would have attached himself to some cause. One scary thought: John's last televised performance featured him wearing a vinyl red jumpsuit. Let's hope that was John putting us on and not preparing to adopt an Elvis-like persona.
