Hi I would say you are well on your way, but the good news is that you seem to have recognized it early, so it will be easier to help yourself. If you haven't eaten much or anything at all for a week, it would be impossible for you to eat a "normal-sized meal" so don't try it because it will probably make you feel worse. Try eating a little roast chicken breast, or maybe some scrambled eggs, as both are easily digested. To find a therapist close to you who specializes in eating disorders, go to Psychology Today's website where you can download the profiles of local therapists based on your zip code. You can then pick the one you like the look of best. Meantime, because they may not be able to get in right away, you should see your doctor as soon as you can. While it takes longer than a week to starve to death (as long as you are drinking something) you probably aren't in great shape and he might think you need a few days in the hospital to help you get stronger.
