What if you don't have insurance information and are in an accident? |

Answer
My understanding is, as long as you are indeed insured, it's usually not a problem. You probably remember the name of your insurance company and can call them to get your policy number, either at the scene with a cell phone, nearby at a pay phone, or when you get home. The important thing is, you ARE insured, right? It's the same with your drivers license. You have to have one, but you don't have to carry it. If you get pulled over, the important thing is that you do actually have one. The officer can check it over the phone.
