Its Little bit difficult to dignose your problem, Here are some techniques that we use to diagnose the pc.

Either your Monitor is not working or PC

FOR PC...

when you press power button of your pc see the little bulb under the button is it on

if no then Power supply , Ram and processor must be check.

For power supply if it isnt running (see its fan behing the cpu)then check your processor and ram in other cpu or get others ram and processor and then use them into your pc one by one.

if the little bulb on under the cpu power button and supply fan is running then check the video adapter is it builtin in or standalon if it is builtin then the problem may be in your monitor display. if the video card is standalon thn check the video card in others pc or any other video card to your pc.

If your cd rom is not on that is supply is off or not working then you must first clear that is the power supply ok use this supply into others pc .if it is ok then turn to processor and ram as i told you above.

all the you have to troublshoot the supply ram and processsor if the problem resides in cpu i dont think that your motherboard burned .01 % chances are there for its burning

But before working out on your cpu you must check your monitor with other cpu that is it ok or generally for monitors its common that just give it supply and dont plug its data (video) cable to cpu then on the monitor its bulb should be on with green light and black display (feels a little bit lightened). that shows the monitor is ok otherwise if there is orange light then it may be consider in most computers that monitor is not ok.
