You should take your dog to the vet. That's the best thing to do.Unless you want it to give birth in your home , get some blankets and some warm Luke water. When the pup comes out get the pup and with a blanket take off the blood and wet it just a little with the Luke water. Then put it back with the mother.
Be Careful
This requires either a vet's knowledge, a ton of reading, or a doggy midwife. Far too much information to write here. If your female is a mid-sized or large-sized, long-nosed breed, you can often give her a warm, safe place to nest and leave her alone. If she is a tiny dog or a short-nosed dog like a pug, she will need you there and probably some help. Better get to the library and start looking this up.
Let the cow do her thing. Just keep an eye on her from a distance to see how she's progressing. If she's not progressing after the water bag and/or front feet show after an hour or two, then you better put her in the head gate and help her out. If you don't see anything after the water bag showed or the feet are pointed up instead of down, then you better get her in quick and get the chains out. Either that or call the vet.
Unless you have veterinary training...nothing. Just leave the mom alone to do her thing. Dogs have been giving birth without people's help for a long, long time.

If your mare had a foal it should be at her side unless it was dead at birth and then it should be laying in the corral/pasture. Either way you will know
It takes 6 days of playing on howrse.com for a mare to give birth on Howrse.com. This is very close to being equivalent to the 11 months that a real mare would take to give birth.
It shouldn't. The contractions can last hours, but when the mare actually lays down to give birth, it should take about 10 minutes to an hour. If it goes over a hour, call the vet, because there is probably something wrong
The udders will be swolen and the mare will drip milk. The mare will be restless and will lay down after a while. Also she will pie right before she is going to give birth.
There is no way to speed up a Howrse mare's pregnancy - it will always give birth when it is 12 months pregnant and not earlier.
