What ingredient in diet pills is supposed to be the active ingredient and causes the weight loss? |

Ephedrine in Diet Pills
A lot of diet pills have used the active ingredient ephedrine. Ephedrine (and compunds like it), increase heart rate. HOWEVER, this is where the myth of a good deit pill comes in. Increased heart rate does NOT mean increased metabolism despite what the ads say, and increasing your metabolism is what can help you lose weight.
If diet pills really worked, the pill makers would be billionaires and we'd all be really thin. Right now, just the pill makers are rich. Think about that. Aside from ephedrine being basically useless, it and its cousins can be very dangerous to the body. Nothing beats good exercise and a sensible eating plan.
