Volume or capacity of a fluid can be measured with a graduated cylinder,or a measuring jug or cup. For a fixed volume, you can use pipettes, micropipettes, burettes, volumetric flasks also. Beakers have too high an error in them to be used in any way accurately. A eudiometer, pneumatic trough,

A solid's volume can be measured by water displacement. You could use a Eureka Can or this procedure:
1) Fill a graduated cylinder with water
2) Record the volume of the water
1) Put the solid in it
2) Measure the volume of the water again
3) Subtract the two for the volume.

A gas's volume can be measured by collecting it in a gas collecting tube or a gas syringe.

Any volume measuring tool.
Instruments such as the beaker can be used.
A graduated cylinder is the most accurate way to measure liquid volume.
A capacitance bridge is an instrument used to measure electrical capacitance. It is basically a wheatstone bridge using an ac signal source, a known variable capacitance, and an indicator meter. The unknown capacitance is inserted into the bridge, and the known capacitance is adjusted to null out the meter. Another method is to measure the time required to charge the capacitor to 70% of the available voltage from a constant current generator. This will tell you the total charge necessary to create the test charge in the capacitor. A similar method consists of measuring the capacitors time constant, the time required to reach 70% of available voltage when the capacitor is charged through a known resistance from a constant voltage source. The time constant is given by resistance times capacitance.
The three main tools to measure volume are: A graduated cylinder, ruler, and a beaker.

If you mean volume, you can find the volume of a rectangular prism by doing length times width times height.

you can also use water displacement to find the volume.

you use a beaker and a fraduated cyclen der

To measure the volume of fluid is used within a dial or gauge.

Measuring cup filled to the volume of solids used.

Can also be used to measure the volume density of the formula.
Topful cup.

Officially, the instrument used to measure liquid volume is called a graduated cylinder. A graduated cylinder can, through a method called "water displacement," indirectly measure the volume of solids and gases. A standard graduated cylinder has markings up to 100 mL (milliliters, marked by 1mL markings) but can hold a little more. It can be read by holding it at eye level and noting the measurement at the CENTER of the bulge. Water will bulge downwards, while Mercury will bulge upwards. The bulge is called a miniscus.

Typically, when measuring the volume of a liquid, you'd use a graduated cylinder, or a beaker. Or if the object's a solid, you could measure the length, width, and height'and multiply those measurements together and get the Volume.

graduated cylinder

Additional answer

Although this would not measure the volume of either a gas or a solid.

This is a statement and clearly homework. If you wish to ask for a means to approach the statement wiki can help you, but we won't do your work for you.

You could use a graduated cylinder, a ruler, or a beaker
A ruler and a graduated cylinder!! :)

Cup is filled with the solids.

Dial gauge is used for liquids.
dial gauge
you use a graduated cylinder. when the water rises, you subtract what the water used to be, from what it changes to when you drop in the object.
To measure the volume of an irregular shaped object (a rock or pencil, form example), you would use a graduated cylinder.

For a regular shaped object (block, cube) you can use a ruler and measure length, width and height, to use in the formula

length x width x height
To measure the volume of fluid within the rating.

Measuring cup filled to the volume of solids.

Gradugated cylinder
Various tools can be used to measure capacity. Eyedroppers, cups, bottles, graduated cylinders, and beakers are just a few.
Acoustic Volume --> use a microphone

Volume of a gas --> I'd leverage some chemistry and PV=nRT, I suppose

Volume of a liquid --> Volumetric Flask

Capacity of an LVM volume --> command "df -h"

your qusetion was not specific bt we hve so many measuring instruments which cn also measure differents things. An example may include Time .instruments 4 measuring time cn be a clock, watch and so on.Also, when u want 2 measure a volume of a substance a top balance cn be used.if this explanation is not clear u cn check the encyclopedia or get a book(which contains the right information)from the library .If this cnt help try and rephrase ur question and be specific.

Well, you could use a measuring cylinder. Take the reading of the volume of the liquid inside the cylinder in ml or cm^3. For example, the amount of water is 25ml. Then drop in the shape and the volume will increase. If the new volume is 75ml, then all you have to do is 75-25=50. %0ml is the volume of the irregular shape.
