The primary instrument is the synthesizer which is basically a really good electric piano. Better electric pianos basically mean that the piano can now represent all the different needs in a band - including drums, bass, Guitars - which are hard to record!
Also, if you're recording using a good program like Sony ACID you also want the Anteres AutoTune program which basically makes your pitch perfect (it's what the industry people use to make people who can't sing - sound good!).
In Pop Music, it is made to sound electronic. There is a thumping drum machine beat and it is often about love & relationships.

∙ 15y agoThe Main Instruments are usually Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Rythym Guitar, Bass Guitar and Drums. Sometimes a keyboard is also used. Also in alot of Bands, The Lead singer plays another instrument, Usually the Rythym or Lead Guitar, But in the band 'The Police', The Lead Singer Sting Plays Bass Guitar.
