What temperature should chicken cook at?

This is a tricky question. Really depends how one prepares the fowl; but what cooks at home need to know, is internal temp of at least 165'. If it's a whole chick, check temp in the thick area of the leg-quater. i my self fry chix at 325', slow and low, doesn't dry the meat out, more moist too..

Why use a thermometer for meat?

Sure, why not? Fried chicken with tomatoes and zucchini? Roast chicken stuffed with cubes of acorn squash and walnuts? A chicken stew cooked inside a whole pumpkin? I'd try it.
