512mb of ram is good for older Apple computers, smartphones(and even some have 1gb or so of ram today) and very, very low power netbooks, even then I would opt to have at least 1gb of ram. So really, if you're getting an Apple iMac from about 2005 or before, or are getting a middle of the road smartphone, it's good, but otherwise, I'd stay away from it. :)

∙ 12y agothat's a very basic amount.........just enough to get somethings done. for todays computers 1-2 gigs would be ok 3-4 would be good 5-6 would be great, also you can add much more ram, 16 gigs is the most ive ever have saw in a PC. Keep this in mind to it matters what type of ram you have but it would take 2-3 pages to tell you all about it.
