As the climate is warm clohing was usually lightweight and made from linen. Silk was rare and only worn by the very rich. The men wore short skirts around their waists called kilts, while the women wore straight fitting dresses with straps on their shoulders. Men of high status wore pleated kilts, and the older men wore a longer kilt. Wigs and jewellery were worn by both men and women who could afford them. When doing hard work, men wore a loin cloth, and women wore a short skirt. Slave or servaant girls in the households of the rich often wore at times little more than skimpy panties and lots of jewellery. Slaves working on building the monuments or working in the mines went naked.

Primarily, the annual flooding of the Nile, which the Egyptians relied upon to flood their fields with a layer of very fertile silt - this assured success of their crops.

--------------------------

the climate was very hot so it effected the crops. Date Palms could be grown here and the deserts served as an burial place. the desert was also the place where caravans of the Egyptian traders roamed.

Furthermore, The climate helped them last as a civilization as long as they did, it isolated them from invading armies, (the deserts did), the flooding of the Nile brougth silt to the flooded lands where Tillers planted in the rich black soil after the floods (which happen 3 times a year) They had more food (meat, Millet, other grains, cattle and wild plants and animals) then any other civilization at the time.
