Arable Farming:
Arable farming is the growing of crops by farmers, they use any amount of land, however the most profitable and majority of farms have large amounts of land to grow crops, because of the current economic situation, the farming industry is suffering and because of this the larger farms are profiting more and earning more money than the smaller farms. Now, many farmers now use machinery to harvest crops because it takes less time and is more efficient, it also means that's they do not need to employ as many people and therefore save money. Here is a list of some of the types of crops that some arable farmers may produce; wheat, barley, oats, maize, linseed, oilseed rape, beans and peas. In the South East of England about 14% of English cereal crop is grown in this region.
