Marketing interacts with the entire DMP (decision making process) and DMU (Decision making unit) which are involved in the process of purchasing. The DMU is represented by the parties directly involved in the decision of buying a whatsoever product. The tools involved in the retention of loyal consumers are therefore different from the tools used to attract a new clientele. There are many channels which can be used to interact with the DMU at every step of the DMP. Everybody is somehow influenced by marketing operations whenever they decide to purchase a product.
