What is Final Fantasy VII?

Answer:
Final Fantasy VII is the seventh installment in the extremely popular Japanese franchise, Final Fantasy. Since its debut in 1997, it has spawned a series of sequels and prequels, entitled the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII(these titles include Before Crisis, a mobile phone game only available in Japan that is set some years before FFVII, Crisis Core, a game for the PSP that tells Zack Fair's story and is set before FFVII, Advent Children, a full-length CG animated film set two years after FFVII, and Dirge of Cerberus, a PS2 game set three years after the original game that tells Vincent Valentine's story).

The story centers around Shinra Inc., a powerful corporation that uses facilities called reactors to suck mako, the planet's life, out from the earth to use for their own purposes.

AVALANCHE, a resistance faction very much in opposition of Shinra's actions, sets out to destroy these reactors and bring an end to Shinra's reign.

Things escalate and become much more complicated after the appearance of Aerith, a cheerful young woman who is much more than she seems, and the return of a ghost from the past, the ultimate SOLDIER, Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy VII is a tale of a man's quest to settle his past and an epic struggle for the planet's life.

It is highly recommended to any fan of rpgs.
