Depends on what you're going for. If you're going for Infantry, you'll attend One Station Unit Training (OSUT), which is your Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training rolled into one package. There are also some units there which conduct Basic Combat Training only for non-infantry personnel.
The latter will be just like any other BCT... you'll inprocess at the Adjutant General battalion, get your uniforms issued, get all your paperwork filled out, get many shots and vaccinations, get your ID card issued, have photos taken, get your pay set up (if you don't already have a bank account, one will be set up for you), and you'll take a "light" version of the PT test, which, if you can't pass it, you'll be sent for remedial training before you ship downrange to your BCT/OSUT unit. All in all, you could spend anywhere from two weeks to a month just waiting before you actually start Basic.
From there, you'll settle into a routine.. PT in the mornings, you'll start prepping for marksmanship training, you'll learn basic IMT and such... infantry OSUT would be somewhat more intense than other BCT programmes, but the BCT phase covers the same things every other BCT programme at every other training post does.
Fort Benning tends to be particularly hot and humid, so you can expect to sweat it out quite a bit.
WWI was the US Army's first war in which basic training, HAIRCUTS (it began with lice control), and the basic standards (protocol, etc) of the present US Army were established on a traditional basis.
slavery was the most basic differences between the north and south and they did not like the fact that people wanted slavery and some people didn't. another difference was everyone wanted to have all the forts so the decided to battle and see who should win Fort Sumter and when the battle was over the North won Fort Sumter even though Fort Sumter battle and Fort Sumter is in the south.
According to Army Regulation 670-1, which is the Army dress code, cosmetics and nail polish may be worn if they are "conservative and compliment the uniform." IOW, no funky colors and don't wear a ton of makeup but you can wear makeup if you like. However, you can't wear it in basic training. I think they'll let you wear it to basic training graduation--they did when I was in. Once you're out of basic, it's okay to use it.
no. all it is that its a cabin. no heat but surely, you will have bunkbeds
Well they looked like a small fort house kindove
It would depend on which unit the person you're writing to is. There are several different training battalions at Fort Benning. If they are undergoing training in, for example, Alpha Company, 2/58 (I'm just using this as an example), the address would look like: PVT Joe Somebody A Co. 2/58 IN Fort Benning, GA 31905 Before writing, you need to know their unit, as Fort Benning has several units there, and a letter posted to PVT Joe Somebody Fort Benning, GA 31905 is going to be returned to the sender.
Sometimes you'll happen across them at military surplus stores, militaria auctions, and the like. If there's one you're looking for specifically, that could be a bit more difficult. I'm looking at mine from 1998, and see no publisher listed. You may wish to contact the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and see if they would be willing to help (see related link).
California has the most. Mostly smaller facilities compared to other states like Texas.
It depends on your MOS. They like to send you to the closest basic training base to your AIT training base because it's cheaper that way.

Yes, you go to AIT ( advanced individual training) which you get paid monthly for just like in basic training. Then you go home to your unit and start your monthly drills, that you also receive payment for according to your rank and pay grade.
