Kaltenberg Konig Ludwig Dunkel is a Dark Lager from Bavaria, Germany. A Dark Lager is generally brewed from malt, hops and water. At times Lager is from cereals like cracked rice or corn grits. The resulting wort is fermented and stored for sedimentation and aging. After this stage the brew is carbonated.

Katenberg brewery is located near Munich. This brewery specializes in various styles of dark beer. This particular beer even though it is dark is light bodied and smooth. Flavors that jump out in this brew is its coffee like taste.

An interesting side note is that this beer was inspired by the former King Ludwig.
