Which is used to speed up administrative tasks such as checking out book through the use of automated checkout stations that allow library users to scan their library cars and than scan the bar code of the materials they are checking out by themselves.
The ILS does other functions such as tracking the books in the library and relating to the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC ) such as if it is on the self of checked out through the use of Radio Frequency Identification tags
