What is Lion King about?

Answer:
The Lion King (the first movie in the series) is basically about a lion prince's ascension into his rightful role as the "Lion King". Mufasa, who at the time is the current lion king, tells his brother Scar about his new born son. Scar is mad because he wants to be king, but he cannot for as long as Mufasa and his son is alive. Scar then kills Mufasa by means of stampeding wildebeests and makes Mufasa's cub (whose name is Simba) think that he, himself caused his father's death. He felt bad and is told to run away by Scar to avoid a harsh punishment of death. This is only a trick by Scar to have Simba killed though. He manages to not be killed and is found by two other animals; a warthog and a meerkat whose names are Timon(meerkat) and Pumbaa(warthog). Then there are things he learns like how to catch grub(bugs and critters) to survive and a song. Then his lioness friend, Nala, finds him and tells him to come back cause he is the rightful king and their homeland is trashed by Scar and his minions. The ending consists of Simba fighting his uncle Scar, and though almost being killed, he manges to avenge his father's death by ultimately killing Scar and getting rid of his minions. Their homeland, in turn, goes back to being peaceful.
