Most of the time you digest it and it becomes food.

Actually, much of the time, if you ingest mold you get what is called "food poisoning." Certain toxins produced by certain molds will not be digested as "food," but instead it affects your digestive system so much so that you can have severe diarrhea, vomitting, or worse. This is why no moldy food should ever be digested. If you have moldy food sitting on the counter or in the fridge, do not eat it: throw it out.

Naturally your stomach acid will destroy it. Maybe even break it down into nutrients and use them.

What happens when you eat mold?

That would depend on the mold. Some types of mold are benign and will produce little to no reaction in humans, while others can be so dangerous that they can cause cancer after long-term exposure. Most commonly, exposure to or ingestion of mold will cause a temporary reaction in a person that does not last much longer than the exposure to the mold. Ingested mold will often cause symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and an upset stomach.
