Answer

Music Therapy is a field of therapy in which the therapist uses music to facilitate a positive change in behavior that lasts over an extended period of time. Often times they work along side doctors, physical, occupational, and speech therapists to form a treatment team. Treatment is all research and scientifically based so it is viewed as a valid form of treatment for a wide spectrum of disorders. The areas that music therapy can treat are in the domains of communication, social/emotional, cognitive, and physical/motor.
