It is a decomposition reaction of sodium bicarbonate.

Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate dissolved in water. Because it is as an Alkali (Base soluble in water), it gains a proton (hydrogen with no electrons).

NaHCO3 + H20 --> NaH2CO3 + OH

NaH2CO3 being positively charged now, with one extra proton and OH being negatively charged with one less proton.

NOTE: the oxygen is the negative charge not the hydrogen as it is usually written

OH(^-) is actually, O(^-)H
