Yeast infections
Triamcinolone (Triamcinolone acetonide) won't do any harm, and may help relieve the redness, swelling, and itching -- but it's a steroid, not a fungicide, so it won't do anything to the fungus itself. There is an ointment called Mycolog-II that combines triamcinolone with the antifungal, Nystatin, that evidently works better than Nystatin alone in the treatment of candidiasis. Remember that Triamcinolone acetonide is absorbed through the skin, and has systemic effects -- so it should not be used over a large area or for prolonged periods.
It will not be effective at reducing the population of yeast in the vagina.
Nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream are not both needed for shingles, especially since nystatin is for yeast infections. Triamcinolone acetonide can be used successfully to treat rashes and psoriasis.
Yes you can i have been using it by doctors advice for ezema on scalp and face use it daily, works well.
can nystatin triamcinolone work on eczema
Nystatin and Triamcinolone OintmentNot sure about the triamcinolone stuff, but the Nystatin can come in different forms. I have used both the liquid which was for my daughters thrush when she was an infant and the ointment which is for yeast infection which I used for my other daughters diaper rash. I don't think these products are just for little ones exclusively. Additional Info: This is an anti-fungal and steriod ointment. My ENT doctor prescribed this cream (Nystatin & Triamcinolone Acetonide cream) for my ear aches. I would get VERY painful ear aches, with swelling and tenderness accompanying the pain. Along with the pain was also some discharge of fluid sometimes. I would get these earaches quite alot, sometimes 4 times a year or more. I was not a swimmer, I was never submerged underwater, so I do not know what caused these ear problems. But my ENT doctor gave me this cream, told me to put it on a Q-tip and gently and carefully put it into my ear canal, and it worked great. It cleared up my earache quickly--no more pain, swelling, or tenderness. After the ear cleared up, the ENT doc told me to do a daily routine of alcohol + white vinegar mixture in both my ears daily. He recommended a mixture ratio of isopropyl alcohol to white vinegar of about 50:1 (the doc told me to use the 91% iso. alcohol, but I am sure you can use the lower percentages too). So in a small bottle (I use a ten ounce bottle) I just put a few drops of white vinegar (no more than a capful) and mix it with the alcohol, shake it up, and you have your solution to use daily to maintain a clean healthy ear canal. Please check with your own doctor before you use this type of solution on your own.I have also found out that this Nystatin ointment is used for yeast infections and to treat for Cutaneous candidiasis. This was from drugs.com, here is the link:http://www.drugs.com/ppa/nystatin-triamcinolone-acetonide.HTMLThe combination of Nystatin plus the Triamcinolone seems to work better together than Nystatin alone, especially for dermatological treatments.Interesting note: according to the above link, the Nystatin ointment is not recommeded for otic (ear) use. I guess my doctor (he is an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist) knows more than the people at drugs.com. However, I would not recommend that anybody use this stuff in their ear unless they go to their own ENT doctor to find out what the ENT specialist says.
Nystatin is for fungal infections, and triamcinolone is for a variety of skin conditions that can cause itchy irritated skin such as eczema. Neither of these can cure herpes, because herpes is a virus. In fact, steroids like triamcinolone should not be used on viral infections like herpes or chicken pox because they reduce your immune system and can make the infection spread. There are creams that can be used for herpes, and these are antiviral creams. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
No. The steroid like triamcinolone will suppress the symptoms and aggravate the disease.
yes you can but i think it has to be prescribed by a doctor or dermatologist.
Nystatin/triamcinolone is a steroid / antifungal combination. It would not be expected to have any beneficial effect on acne. If the pimple is with an area of fungal infection to be treated with the drug, it may be applied over the pimple without risk.
Yes! I have had eczema for 20 years and when I have a bad breakout this is what I use. It works wonders!
Very low dose over the counter for no more than 3 days twice a day as needed. Remember to also use a zinc oxide cream as well.
