Hot in the summer (about 25 to 30ºC), not too hot or cold in the autumn and spring (from 10ºC to 25ºC) and in the winter it's cold but not that much (from 0ºC to 15ºC). Usually rains more in the winter and spring.

It always hotter and dryer the more southwards you go in Portugal.

Summers are hot and dry throughout Portugal, particularly in the Algarve, which experiences very little rain. But refreshing sea breezes make conditions pleasant. Winters are cold and wet, particularly in the northern and west coast regions. Spring and autumn are good times to visit because of cheaper rates at hotels and less crowded beaches, restaurants and Golf courses.

Lisbon has a warm climate, with sunny spring and summer days when temperatures frequently reach 85ºF (30ºC) or above. Winters are wet and windy, temperatures averaging around 50ºF (10ºC).

Mainland Portugal's climate is Mediterranean. The Mediterranean climate is named for the climate that typifies countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea. It also is known as the area of the Old World where olive trees grow because olive trees flourish in this climate.
