ROM :
Read Only Memory.
When u insert some data in ur file or anything, it (the data) will store permanently on the HARD DISK unlike RAM.
Similarly if ur doing something on ur P.C and if power-off taken place,then also u will get the previous information once u save it.
In other words we can say it as a "PERMANENT DATA STORAGE".
Moreover that as the name suggests, it only reads the data and it wont have writing capability.
