Best Answer

Sahaja Yoga is a method of meditation which brings a breakthrough in the evolution of human awareness. It was created by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi in 1970 and has since spread all around the world. Sahaja Yoga is a unique method of meditation based on an experience called Self Realization (Kundalini awakening) that can occur within each human being. Through this process an inner transformation takes place by which one becomes moral, united, integrated and balanced. One can actually feel the all pervading divine power as a cool breeze, as described in all religions and spiritual traditions of the world. This is the actualization of such transformation, which is taking place now, worldwide, and has been proved and experienced by hundreds of thousands in over 90 countries.

Form of yoga in which meditation is used?

The form of yoga that uses meditation is known as Dhyana yoga. There are many forms, it can be called Raja yoga or king of yoga. It can be call the Patanjali yoga which takes you to samadhi. Therefore the names are plenty, but we should not get worried about the name. We should understand what that form of yoga, of meditation is - it is silence. It is being able to switch off, it is being able to become the witness, the observer. That meditation which gives you Dhyana or concentration gives you consciousness, you become conscious that you are the Divine Soul. You are not the body, you observe the mind as it wanders. This is Dhyana yoga or the yoga of silent meditation.

What is the difference between meditation and reiki?

* Meditation is part of yoga. Basically, yoga can be divided into two parts - physical practice (gymnastics) and mental practice (meditation). In modern world, yoga is often understood as gymnastics, which is wrong. Gymnastics is only a small part of yoga. The goal of yoga is to succeed in meditation. * Meditation can be practiced on its own or as a component of some other therapies, such as yoga, tai chi, and qi gong.

Are meditation and yoga the same thing?

The two words are sometimes used interchangeably. In terms of the meanings of the two words, the word "meditation" is wider than the word "yoga." It is possible to meditate about something merely by musing about it or thinking about it. It is also possible to restrict the word "meditation" to refer to a breathing (spiritual) practice such as zazen meditation. Since yoga is a disciplined method for uniting the mind, zazen meditation (as well as other kinds of breathing practices) are kinds of yoga. Therefore, the meanings of the words overlap, but "meditation" has a wider connotation.
