Name
The format is simple however you might want to consult the heading with your teacher or professor. This is the harvard outline that I use for a speech, which was taught to me. After the heading it is:
Topic:
Purpose (thesis) statement:
I.
A.
1.
a.
II.
A
B.
1.
2.
a.
Is the basic format. After "a" a lower roman numeral is used, "i, ii, etc" Important points to remember that THIS IS AN OUTLINE, not the work itself. Secondly after each letter or number you are allowed to either use a period "." or a half parentheisis ")" not both. Also make sure that all your sections are alligned so much so that, both I and II and alligned, A abd B everywhere are alligned and etc/
