American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions (AAATI) is a Christian nonprofit organization offering educational accreditation, based in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. It was formed in 1983. According to Steve Levicoff, it is an accreditation mill operated by Cecil Johnson, president of Christian Bible College, a distance education Bible college based in Rocky Mount that Levicoff identifies as a diploma mill.

AAATI is not recognized as an accreditor by either the United States Department of Education and Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Is liberty national university accredited?

A national accreditation is not the accreditation you should be looking for in an institution. When choosing a college or university, make sure the institution has a regional accreditation, which has a higher standard. With a regional accreditation, you can be assured the coursework and degree you complete will be recognized by all other colleges and universities as well as employers. Most all traditional colleges and universities of name have a regional accreditation.Liberty University has a regional accreditation which is the most preferred accreditation for schools to have. It's accreditation agency is the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools which is one of six regional accreditation agencies that covers educational institutions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, as well as schools for American children in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. _______________________________________________________________I agree with the above answer that Liberty University is indeed regionally accredited; however, they are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (which is also one of the 6 regional accreditation agencies), not MSACS. Liberty University is in Virginia. :)
