In pediatric patients, especially, an overdose of antihistamines may cause hallucinations, convulsions, or death. In adults, antihistamines may diminish mental alertness in pediatric patients. Young pediatric patients may produce excitation.

Information relating to lethal doses of medications are available to most toxicologists and pharmacologists, but are rarely published due to the potential for use in intentional harm to self or others.

any drug if taken in an over dose is lethal. thousands are hospitalized for Tylenol poisoning everyday just cause of not following instructions. as for benadryl it is an antihistamine which affects sodium channels in your body. if you overdose on benadryl you can have severe side effects that could lead to death.

If you want a yes or no answer, the answer is yes, it can. Any drug, medicine or substance can kill you should you ingest an amount too large for your body to cope with. You would have to eat a very large amount of benadryl (Or diphenhydramine, which is the active compound it contains) to die from it, and it would be extremely unpleasant and slow. However, you can also suffer damage to your internal organs if you take too much, and that can lead to painful medical conditions and an early death. So be careful with any drug you re taking, even chewable vitamins, and read labels!

That would depend on your species, age, weight, and general health; poisoning would have to be an awful way to die though.
