A WPAN ( wireless personal area network) is a low range wireless network which covers an area of only a few dozens of meters. this kind of networks generally used for connecting devices like printers, mobile phones, PDA to a computer or just two nearby computers without using wires.

What is BAN network?

Body area network (BAN), wireless body area network (WBAN) or body sensor network (BSN) are terms used to describe the application of wearable computing devices.[1][2][3] This will enable wireless communication between several miniaturized body sensor units (BSU) and a single body central unit (BCU) worn at the human body.[4][5] The development of WBAN technology started around 1995 by considering wireless personal area network (WPAN) technologies for communications on, near and around the human body. Later around 2001, this application of WPAN has been named as body area network (BAN) to represent the communications on, in and near the body only.[6][7] A WBAN system can use WPAN wireless technologies as gateways to reach longer ranges.-nithin ravi

How does a wireless network work?

Wireless networks work similar to how cordless phones work, through radio signals to transmit data from one point A to point B. The sender of the radio signal mixes data into the radio signal in a process called modulation. The receiver can obtain this data by demodulating the received signal.Wireless technology has restrictions as to how you can access the network. You must be within the wireless network range area to be able to connect your computer. Besides that, a wireless network may be protected by a password. There are two different types of wireless networks Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN).Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)In a wireless local area network, a device called an Access Point (AP) connects computers to the network. The access point has a small antenna attached to it, which allows it to transmit data back and forth over radio signals. With an indoor access point as seen in the picture, the signal can travel up to 300 feet. With an outdoor access point the signal can reach out up to 30 miles to serve places like manufacturing plants, industrial locations, college and high school campuses, airports, golf courses, and many other outdoor venues.Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN)A WPAN network is a wireless network on a smaller scale than a WLAN network. It also uses radio as a carrier signal, but with a different frequency and wavelength. Bluetooth is the industry standard wireless technology used for WPAN. Bluetooth devices in WPAN operate in a range up to 30 feet away.Compared to WLAN the speed and wireless operation range are both less than WLAN, but in return it doesn't use nearly as much power which makes it ideal for personal devices, such as mobile phones, PDAs, headphones, laptops, speakers, and other devices that operate on batteries.

What is the main difference between wpan wlan wnan wman and wwan?

In each case, the 'W' stands for wireless, but these connections can be wired as well. The difference is in the range or size of the network: 'PAN' stands for 'personal area network,' and refers to any network with a range of about 5m, such as Bluetooth, etc. 'LAN' stands for 'local area network.' This refers to any network infrastructure belonging to the same segment of a network. A home network would be an example of a LAN. 'NAN' stands for 'near-me area network.' This refers to a network that deals with devices in relatively close proximity to one another, although the data path of the network may not necessarily be short. This network type isn't as widely used as the others, so it is often overlooked, but an example would be a messaging service that broadcasts to others in the same area. 'MAN' stands for 'Metropolitan Area Network.' This refers to a network infrastructure that has the range of a city. It is a little bit like a long-range LAN. An example would be a network belonging to a company with offices in different parts of the city. The main distinction is that a MAN is within the size of a metropolitan area but too large to be considered a LAN. 'WAN' stands for 'Wide Area Network.' Generally, any network used to transmit data over long distances, or between localized networks such as LANS, is considered a WAN. An example of a WAN would be an ISP, connecting many home networks to the Internet. There are other network types (such as CAN for Campus Area Network or BAN for Body Area Network), but PAN, LAN, NAN, MAN, and WAN are the most common.

How do you connect to a printer into the computer without the cable?

If it uses either a parallel or serial port, then you could by a "T - Switch".Additional optionYou can network 2 computers together (direct connection), and just use File & Print sharing. Make sure you use a "cross-over" cable to connect the two PCs, or use wireless networking.
