The best thing to do would be to simply call your local police department but I can give you some basic information. In every state I know of it is legal to leave home at the age of 18, often done at 17 with no legal ramifications. If you have a legitimate reason to want to leave earlier (say 16) you can go to family court and ask a judge to declare you an adult. This process is called emancipation and is not available in all states. To do this requires that your parents be notified and that you can show that you can support yourself. If you're in an abusive home you can report yourself to the local Family Agency or Child Welfare system and they will take you out and place you with a foster family. Not all foster families are bad like the ones you hear about in the media. Some are very loving and take kids out of the kindness of their hearts.
