Uh, JFK has been on the half dollar since 1964 and President Eisenhower was on dollars struck from 1971 to 1978.
In either case your coins are cupro-nickel issues worth face value only.

Kennedy is on the half dollars, not dollar coins. Eisenhower is on the dollar coins from 1971-1978. There are no U.S. dollars, half-dollars or quarters dated 1976 or 1975, they all are dual-dated 1776-1976. None of the bicentennial coins made for general circulation contain any silver or are worth more than face value. Only Proof and collectors coins sold from the US Mint are worth more.

If the coin is a US Kennedy half dollar dated 1974 it has no silver in it and is face value.

If you're referring to a Kennedy half dollar, those minted in 1971 and after are NOT silver, and worth 50 cents.
The only denomination struck for circulation bearing JFK's image is the half dollar, not a dollar, as can be seen on the coin's reverse where it says "Half Dollar". Unless the coin is a proof or uncirculated, all halves from 1971 and later are standard cupronickel clad coins and are only worth face value.
The 1974 Kennedy halves are not silver. 1970 is the last year for a 40% silver half dollars made for general circulation. It's 50 cents, just spend it.
