I'm not gonna try to spell it but he/she is the Doctor Who puts you to sleep for an operation. he/she moniters you during surgery, and regulates the drugs that permit you to wake up fairly soon after surgery. they probably the highest paid doctors in a hospital because of the number of operations they can attend in one day

An anesthesiologist is a specialist in Preoperative Medicine, and is considered part of the surgery team. He or she specializes in care of a patient prior to, during and after surgery. This includes evaluating and preparing a patient to undergo the rigors of surgery. The anesthesiologist plans the anesthetic for the patient and then cares for the patient during the surgical procedure. Many skills are needed for anesthesiologists though the main being that they must be extremely motivated and be able to keep themselves calm during high-stress intense situations, and they need to be able to maintain peak levels of concentration during long surgical procedures. In addition anesthesiologists also have to be good cooperative team players, because they work as part of a surgery team. Schooling to become an anaesthesiologist is a total of 12 years including four years of pre-medical training before applying to med school, once in medical school its another four years of education, then after you need to apply into anaesthesiology and if you get in its an additional four years of training. After schooling the first job you can expect is an internship, before progressing by yourself. The average salary of an anaesthesiologist is 250 000-300 000 and some beniefits include bonuses, Social Security, Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, paid education, and much more. In addition, constant schooling is needed through their life to keep them up to date with new developments in the field of anesthesiology, so constantly new things are learned and they get to help many people, possibly even saving their lives. Most anesthesiologists in North America work in hospitals. However, some opportunities exist for anesthesiologists in private or free-standing clinics; they work full time and are always on call. Anaesthesiology is expected to be the fastest growing occupation, with very good outlook, since there is a constant aging population and always people that will need surgery.
