A Furby is a toy which resembles a small mound of fur and features a beak, two fairly large round eyes and small paw-like feet. The toy starts out speaking its own language, but "learns" English after some time (it actually tapers its use of Furbish and begins using preprogrammed English instead). Simple expressions on its face - the eyes moving and beak opening and closing - were also common. The toys were extremely popular in the period from 1998 to 2000, being considered 'the' toy to have. Their popularity soon declined despite reinvention of and additions to the original idea (better facial expressions and speech recognition were given to it, for example).

Best selling toy in 2001?
If you go on google and type 'best toys of 2011', you'll find yourself seeing really crappy and unpopular toys you don't like. That is because that ADULTS have made these pages. You see, to be honest adults don't really understand what children REALLY like. On birthdays or Christmas, I have gotten a lots of toys and games that are not so fun to play with. And I also told my friends to tell their parents what I want them to give to me for my birthday and they still give me something different. My friends say sorry and that their parents couldn't afford it but I do know that my friends do mean it. At least 10% were okay. Even if you tell your parents what you really want, the answer you mostly get is 'no' because they think its too expensive. But if you're rich you'll probably get a higher chance of a 'yes'. I am not sure what is the REAL best toy of 2011. Children should vote what is the best toy.
