Per Islam religion rules, no requirement for Muslim men to cover their heads. However, some Muslim men may cover their heads with what is called "Takiya" or "Tarboch". Religious leaders may cover their heads with what is symbolizing their religious status (Called Imamah or Turban).

It is referred to by different names in different area's eg. in South Africa, the indian community refer to it as a Topee(pronounced tore pee) whereas the coloured community refers to it as a Kufya.
