It's just a natural secretion from the lining of your vagina. It happens when/after a girl goes through puberty. It's pretty much your vagina cleaning itself. It also helps you tell if you have an infection, if it's an abnormal color or texture.

∙ 7y agoThick white discharge can be a normal part of the menstrual cycle, typically this is more common during the luteal phase between ovulation and menstruation. Thick white discharge can be a symptom of a yeast infection but unless seeing other symptoms it is unlikely to be the case. If concerned about discharge it's best to go to your doctor for screening to determine the cause.
