Generally speaking a binding love spell is the construct of an unethical practitioner of magic.
The most common are designed to draw and bind someone to "love" another without their permission and with no recourse to getting away if the love is not to their taste.
Other kinds include keeping someone "away from something," such as cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, a boy/girlfriend they do not approve of, etc. Even if these seem like good ideas, they are used to remove the free will of another person.
Magic should never be used to manipulate, control, or effect anyone without their knowledge and express permission.
The only ethical binding love spell out there is one used at handfastings (weddings). Both of participants worked on, created, and performed the spell as part of their wedding ritual.
Binding spells can be used for many purposes. They can be used to bind someone to you for life or they can be used to keep someone away from you. Binding spells can be used with white or black magick. If you ever have a preference stay away from black magick - it backfires bad.
