It isn't a spider at all. It is an insect masquerading as a spider. I live in Tennessee and on June 19 encountered one on my porch. I killed it and the "body" fell off. On further inspection I found it only had 6 legs.
Probably a jumping spider look at pics of Phidippus
This type of spider is a Phidippus johnsoni. It is commonly called a red back spider due to its markings.
a black widow
be careful they can kill you if you get bit!!!
a black widow
It could be a black widow spider if it is small and thin-legged with a shiny round black abdomen and red markings under it. If it's fuzzy with a red spot on it's back, and the front part of the body is more-or-less the same size as back part, then it's a black jumping spider.
If the stripe is rather large and the abdomen is longer rather than spherical, it's probably an Ant Mimic Spider (in the family Clubionidae, genus Castianeira). And it's harmless. If the spider is super shiny and has a very round abdomen, then it's probably some sort of widow and you should stay away.
A black spotted yellow spider that just ate a gumball.
A black widow. This spider is only a black widow if the entire spider is black, with a round-ball looking back-body, female variety if there is a red hourglass shape marking on the underside of the spider. From the top black widows are completely black.
Wolf Spider
brown widow is a medium sized spider with a fury body and resembles the brown rucluse but has the black widow hour glass on the bottom of the abdomen <><><> Black widow- up to about the size of a large green pea. Round body, shiny black. The red hourglass marking is on the belly. Link below will take you to a photo showing markings.
A male black widow has orange and black stripes. Heres my description of black widows. This is about both male and female black widow spiders. It is shiny and coal black in colour. The female averages 8-10 mm's in length and has long slender legs and a round abdomen. Usually on the underside of the female's abdomen is a red hourglass mark and one or two red spots over the spinnerets and along the middle of her back. The male is 3-4 mm's long with an elongated abdomen. The male's legs are larger then the females and each joint is orange brown and black on the ends. On the sides of the male's abdomen there are 4 pairs of red and white stripes. Young black widows are orange, brown and white. They acquire their black clothing with age.
The biggest type of spider is the goliath bird eating spider which is the size of a round dinner plate.

Goldfish, Ladybug, spider
It could be a domino beetle if the yellow is pale and sort of white. Or a Harlequin ladybird
There are a number of spiders that show a variety of combinations of red and black. A Female Black Widow Spider is black, has a very round abdomen, and usually, but not always, has a telltale red hourglass shape on thethe underside of her abdomen, not her back. A female black widow is also very shiny--think patent leather. According to The National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Insects & Spiders, the red marking may or may not be an hourglass shape; it can appear as two transverse red marks with black in between.According to http://www.termite.com/spider-identification.html#blackwidow, "The marking may range in color from yellowish orange to red and its shape may range from an hourglass to a dot."There are other black and red spiders--I'm looking at one right now--that are fuzzy and/or that display patterns different from those of the black widow.
