I'm not sure what you mean. I haven't heard about such things. Probably you meant a router with bridging. If so, then it's a router which you can you use to cover more distance then with only one. (For brindgin you will need at least 2 routers.) You might have meant changing your modem from ppp to full bridging mode. This is generally when you have a router or wireless router connected between the modem and the PC. Normally a modem handles the IP addresses and authentication when you connect to the internet. If you put a router into the situation, then there can be conflicts between the modem and the router. So what can be done is the modem is put into bridging mode which means it doesn't do any of the authentication or IP addressing etc., instead it acts like a "bridge" between the router and the internet. The router does all the work.

Your isp modem is set in the bridged mode. To unbridge your modem, plug your network cable from your PC directly into your tower, other end directly into the modem, and type in an IE browser page 192.168.0.1. Your isp page should come up then in there should give you an option to bridge and unbridge the modem. This process is to tell your modem that multiple connections are to be hooked to it thru a router .bridge mode is for router installation. Unbridged is for modem installation only (1 p/c). You more than likely have a static ip address set on your computer so your going to have to find the properties for your tcp/ip and make sure it is set to obtain IP automatically for both sections.
Embarq dsl modem internet light does not come on?
Their are several reasons as to why the internet light on the Embarq DSL modem is not coming on. One is the modem maybe in whats called Bridge modem. Which means it just translating DSL signal to a signal your PC can understand. The Firewall and routing of data have been disabled. Basicly the internet light means that modem is hold a ip address for the internet. Other possiable issue is that maybe issue with Embarq Network. Contact Embarq HSI Tech support for any help.

Yes you can, that's how I play It's very easy. You need to connect the xbox to the laptop, right cllick on the xbox in the network folder and click start bridge connections
