I have 3 kinds in my yard, a hibiscus, an azealea, and a althea. not sure if that is the plant that you are referring to. all 3 have white flowers with red centers, the azealea is 2-6 foot tall, the hibiscus, also known as the Hiwiia'n flower, is 3-5 feet tall, and the althea, or rose of sharon, grows to 15-20 feet tall.
Some ideas are peony, hibiscus, camellia, or rose. You could web search these and see if you can then identify it from a photo.
