Chloroplast is an organelle found in plants and algae cells where photosynthesis occurs.

The chloroplast contains chlorophyll which is the light sensitive pigment that powers photosynthesis and other pigments. Chlorophyll gives the plant its green color

A plastid containing chlorophyll, developed only in cells exposed to the light. Chloroplasts are minute flattened granules, usually occurring in great numbers in the cytoplasm near the cell wall, and consist of a colorless ground substance saturated with chlorophyll pigments. Under light of varying intensity they exhibit phototactic movements. In animals chloroplasts occur only in certain low forms.

Chloroplasts are what give plants their green color.

Organelle that makes sugars, using carbon dioxide, water, and the energy from sunlight.

Cholorplasts can be found in plant cells and produces food.

It is an eukariyotic organelle. It is important for photosynthesis

a plastid (I don't know what that is) that contains chlorophyll (a group of pigments [don't ask where I got that from]) that makes food by turning the sunlight into energy. that process in called photosynthesis.

i hope that helps you! :P

I got this from dictionary.com

Chloroplast- a plastid containing chlorophyll; a plastid that contains chlorophyll and is the site of photosynthesis and starch formation.

chloroplast (klôr'ə-plāst')

A plastid in the cells of green plants and green algae that contains chlorophylls and carotenoid pigments and creates glucose through photosynthesis. In plants, chloroplasts are usually disk-shaped and can reorient themselves in the cell to vary their exposure to sunlight. Chloroplasts contain the saclike membranes known as thylakoids, which contain the chlorophyll and are arranged in stacklike structures known as grana. Besides conducting photosynthesis, plant chloroplasts store starch and are involved in amino acid synthesis. Like mitochondria, chloroplasts have their own DNA that is different from the DNA in the nucleus, and chloroplasts are therefore believed to have evolved from symbiont bacteria, their DNA being a remnant of their past existence as independent organisms.

How does the structure of the chloroplast relate to the phases of photosynthesis?

Chloroplasts are organelles found in plant cells. Chloroplasts capture light energy to conserve free energy in the form of ATP. The word chloroplast is derived form the Greek words chloros, meaning green, and plast, meaning entity.
