Clustering or chunking is simply dividing a large chunk of information into smaller clusters or chunks to help deal with it. You can do this with anything! Look at any section of your textbook and you'll see the entire book is divided into chapters, which is one chunk; then into sections of the chapter, which is another chunk; then into subheadings, and so on.
