The "Deutsche Adler" (German eagle) is the most common symbol seen in Germany.
The "Fette Henne"(nickname for the eagle) is displayed on the the heraldic signs on all German government buildings. It is also a very popular symbol on hotel, restaurant and pub signs. Motorists often have a small shield with it on in their rear window, many organisations also use thew German eagle in their signs.
