It is the connection from a PC to an analogue audio source, usually a DJ's turntable or scratch pad. It allows a test signal to be fed from a special vinyl LP on the turntable to control the speed of an mp3 playback. In this way, any number of mp3's can be scratched like an LP without having to change the vinyl.
