A drummer, at his most basic level, is someone who plays the drums.
The drummer holds a very important role in every band, especially groups that lack a composer, such as jazz bands, pop ensembles and rock bands. It is important for the drummer to practice regularly with a metronome so that he play steadily, with a solid tempo and provide a solid foundation for the rest of the band.
